Female Solo Traveler Must Haves

Travelling alone sometimes can feel like a sport in one country and a calm yoga-like experience in another. The items needed will cater to any of those scenarios. Here are my  solo must haves;

  • Apple Tags - In the event of a delayed check bag and  theft of personal items, this provides some comfort. More importantly this is a perfect way to leave loved ones with a sense of security in knowing your location can be tracked.

  • Universal Travel Adapter/Multiple Power Banks - Finding charging stations to fit your geographic mode of electronic items, can be gnarly at times. Bring your own.

  • Running Shoes - Please pack a pair of running sneakers, that you know to be comfortable. If you’re planning to travel to Europe it is absolutely not the time to be testing a new shoe. For Europe, its Passport then a Comfortable pair of sneakers,in that order.

  • Emergency Funds - Apart from your primary card, always in the event of any inconvenience secure secondary funds that are only used for such occurrences. Keep this stored separately and securely.

  • Anti Theft Weather & Fire Proof Security Bag - This is perfect to store passport,jewelry, any other valuables that would gravely affect travel plans if lost.

  • Travel Size Medical Kit - Changing location can impact so much. It is often not easy to navigate in a new country with a new language, trying to find some sort of pain relief. Always carry a medicine kit for any and every ailment relief that may occur.

  • A Snack Bag - This may seem juvenile but from experience, always carry your own airport snacks with you before every flight. Delays, long layovers, and Payment issues respect no one.

  • Sunglasses - I promise this isn’t just for glamour use. A pair of Sunglasses shields the sun rays, hides tired eyes from a long flight, hides disdain for poor customer service and provides a safe space to retrieve your thoughts. If you find yourself overwhelmed or just needing a moment to bask in one of  the many ‘wow’ moments you have whilst solo traveling, a pair of sunglasses would be perfect.

  • Carry-on Only Emergency Clothing Items - It May surprise you, how often an emergency outfit and under garment is something on the, “I wish i packed” list. This one is a must have at all times for all female travelers.

Being Prepared provides a comfort that no money can undo. In most cases you ended up spending way more than intended as a consequence of not being prepared.

Until next time xoxo.
